IT Administrator – Permanent – Torquay

The Position

Due to continued growth and strategic objectives we are seeking to recruit an IT Administrator to work alongside our current IT Support. Working from our Torquay office, this is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To provide face to face and telephone support to all users
  • Work alongside and in liaison with our outsourced IT support service
  • To provide support for the business’s bespoke applications and operating platforms including ‘Solicitors Own Software’
  • Install and configure new phones, computer hardware, operating systems and software
  • Set up new user accounts and profiles and deal with password issues via the business’s bespoke applications and Microsoft AD/Office 365
  • Ensure all registers of equipment, software, domains and users are maintained
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with IT suppliers
  • Job will be based in our Torquay office but will involve some travel to our office in Totnes
  • Being able to react to urgent requests from your colleagues, thinking on your feet to resolving their issues and getting them working again as quickly as possible

Key requirements- Technical:

  • Proven working experience as an IT Administrator or relevant experience
  • Diagnosing and fixing hardware and software issues including PCs, printers, mobile phones
  • Windows Operating Systems: Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Active Directory & Office 365 administration
  • Desktops / Laptops
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP and RDS

Key requirements- Practical:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to troubleshoot a variety of IT-related issues and resolve user issues


  • Experience of working with ‘Solicitors Own Software’ (‘SOS’) Connect
  • Awareness of ITIL practices and processes
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network switches
