Steve Hanbury Appointed to Board of Torquay Athletic RFC

We are excited to announce that Steve Hanbury, Partner in the Corporate Team here at Boyce Hatton, has been appointed as Honorary Secretary for Torquay Rugby Club!

Formed in 1876, and nicknamed the “Tics” Torquay Athletic RFC operates five senior men’s teams as well as various youth and mini teams, including home games at the Recreation Ground.

TARFC have a prestigious reputation in the local community having produced several international players as well as quality players who have represented England at Under 16 level including Bath and England Hooker Lee Mears, and Mike Davis, a local Torquay lad, who played and coached England in the 1970’s. Forwards Coach John Widdicombe, another Torquinian, played for Newport and the Barbarians XV.

Steve Hanbury stated “I am delighted to have been invited to join the board at Torquay Rugby Club as Honorary Secretary. The board has ambitious plans for the future, so these are very exciting times for the club”.
