Kate Barton maintains Children’s Law Panel Status

Kate Barton has once again been re-accredited to the Children’s Law Panel in recognition of the quality of her work in representing families in Torbay and the South Hams.

The accreditation is awarded to solicitors and legal executives who can demonstrate a high level of awareness, knowledge and expertise in children law proceedings and the representation of children in such proceedings. One of only four solicitors to hold his accreditation in Torquay, this is the 9th year that Kate has held it.  In order to maintain her accreditation Kate had to evidence the quality of her work in the following areas:

  • Family cases involving Grandparents and wider family members
  • Complex children matters involving physical, emotional and sexual abuse
  • Cases where the court considers the children should have separate representation from their parents

Kate said; “I’m delighted to have once again received the accreditation of the Children’s Law Panel.  When families separate it is hard on all parties, not just the adults.  Being able to provide a high quality service for the interests of children is paramount in ensuring that everyone is able to move on to the next chapter of their lives. Being on the panel gives a quality mark to reassure families that we can help them and have most likely come across their situation, or a similar one, before and been able to resolve it for that family.”
