Boyce Hatton would like to thank everyone who attended the WITT Christmas event at the Royal Seven Stars Hotel in Totnes on 4 December 2018. Following on from the success of last year’s celebration, the serious business women of Torbay and Totnes enjoyed an afternoon that involved, among other things, unwrapping fiendishly difficult Christmas presents while wearing oven gloves, hats and scarves. Apologies are offered from Emily Bailey of Boyce Hatton for going overboard on the wrapping, but at least there were sweets and treats for those who managed to battle through each layer!
It’s also not every day you see a gathering of competent and successful ladies standing around with paper plates balanced on their heads and a look of concentration on their faces as they try to draw a traditional Christmas scene without being able to see what they are doing. Hilarious it may have been, but the WITT ladies should probably not give up their day jobs to pursue a career in the arts.
There followed a very confusing distribution of the Secret Santa gifts that certainly kept people on their toes, but which saw everyone go home with a present before they were free to enjoy the first day of the Totnes Christmas Market.
Mulled wine and mince pies were provided, and the group had an opportunity to mingle, catch up and forge new connections over the course of the afternoon. The traditional raffle also raised over £60 for Totnes Caring thanks to the generosity of everyone attending.
The WITT Christmas events are huge fun to plan and hopefully as much fun to be part of. This year’s event was a perfect opportunity to let your hair down, get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy the company of other professional women. Who knows, perhaps some serious networking even took place! And remember, next year’s Christmas event is only 12 months away…
Before then, the first WITT event of 2019 is a morning of breakfast and networking held at the Living Coasts on 6 February, from 9.00 a.m. – 11.00 a.m. As well as a hearty breakfast the event will feature Phil and Sandra Sampson of Sampson Hall, and Phil will be delivering a talk on “Leading with Self Compassion.” If you would like to attend this event, or find out more about WITT in general, please contact Kate Gillette at Boyce Hatton on [email protected]
Thanks again to everyone who came to the Christmas event and made it such a success due to their good humour and willingness to be just a little bit silly.
