Boyce Hatton appoints Head of Employment law
Boyce Hatton Solicitors has appointed Andrew Macmillan as Head of Employment law, based at the firm’s Torquay offices.
Andrew has consistently specialised throughout his 25 year career in employment law, giving him a rare level of expertise on employment matters. He joins Boyce Hatton from Motor Industry Legal Services (MILS) where he was a Partner and the Retail Motor Industry Federation’s employment law expert and previously a Partner at Beers LLP.
He will work closely with Boyce Hatton’s Company Commercial team that advises businesses across commercial and contractual issues.
Commenting on Andrew’s appointment, Boyce Hatton’s Managing Partner Mark Pierce said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the team. He has extensive and in-depth experience across employment law and has advised many different types of client through his career. Bringing him on-board will complement our Company Commercial offering and provide our clients with a fully integrated service. It is also a sign of our continued investment and growth as a firm.”
Andrew said: “I am very pleased to be joining a firm with such a strong local reputation that is full of confidence for the future. I look forward to working with clients across the region as they deal with a growing list of critical issues. Compliance with employment obligations such as minimum wage and contractual rights, together with gender and equality issues, not to mention compliance with data protection and privacy laws enshrined in the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into effect in just a few weeks’ time – all mean that employment law is rising ever higher up the agenda for businesses.”
